District 6880 Clubs advised to collect funds for Haiti Relief projects

port_au_princeRotary Clubs in District 6880 are advised to hold funds collected for Haiti Earthquake Relief efforts until the District administration can determine the best way to manage those funds and assure that they make it into the correct hands in Haiti. District 6880 has previously discussed a coordinated District response for disasters.   At this time the District is collecting contributions to send to the Rotary District Governor in Haiti.  The Dothan Rotary Club has a disaster relief foundation 501C3 set up. If your club wishes to take up a collection to donate money to the victims devastated by the earthquake, you may also send it in to District Treasurer Bob Mills. The Distirct Governor has set a date of Friday, January 22, 2010 to have initial monies in by . This time frame will allow the District Governor of District 7020 in Haiti to use these resources as disaster victims need.
