Bob is a partner in the law firm of Brown
Hay & Stephens which was founded by his great-great
grandfather in 1828. An estate planning attorney, he is
a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel
and of the American Bar Foundation as well as on the advisory
panel of Leading Lawyers Network. He served as chair of
the Illinois State Bar Association Estate Planning Section
Council. In Springfield, he has been active as the chair
of the Chamber of Commerce, the United Way Campaign, the
United Way Foundation and Sangamon County Historical Society.
He is the Secretary/General Counsel of the National Recreation
Foundation, Treasurer of the Abraham Lincoln Association,
Trustee of the Illinois State Museum Society, the Springfield
Parks Foundation, and Memorial Medical Center Foundation.
A past president of the A Lincoln Boy Scout Council and
chair of its trust committee, he holds the silver beaver
and distinguished eagle awards. For service in masonry,
he has been awarded the 33rd degree. He has served as an
elder of the First Presbyterian Church.
Bob joined Rotary in 1975 and served as district governor in 1985-86. He has
chaired two zone institutes and served as delegate to two Councils on Legislation,
Information Counselor, task force/committee coordinator, vice chair and chair,
Assembly Training Leader, and Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator. He has
received the Citation for Meritorious Service. Bob and Margie are Paul Harris
Fellows, Major Donors and members of the Bequest Society.
Bob and Margie have one daughter, Cori who has recently received a master’s
degree at the University of Illinois at Springfield. |
Greg Franks is Assistant Manager for
Club and District Administration–Pan America
and supervises the implementation of all aspects of
service to Rotary clubs and districts in Southern U.S.A.,
the Caribbean, and Northern Latin America.
Rotary International’s Club and District Administration (CDA) staff members
serve as your primary contacts at the Secretariat, offering a wide range of support
to clubs by providing information, tools, and communications resources. We can
also help you with questions pertaining to election and constitutional matters;
strategies to enhance membership; the formation and the application processing
