Tom Mann
Tom Mann is a 1995 charter member of the Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club. Before joining Rotary, Tom was President of his high school Interact Club, where he received a scholarship from the local Rotary Club. He has been a board member for several years and President of his club in 2002 – 2003. Tom served as Assistant Governor from 2005 – 2007 and was the Annual Giving Chairperson fort wo years. Tom also served as Aide to District Governor Richard Bollinger in 2007 – 2008 and was President and Chairperson of the Montgomery Sunrise Foundation 2007 – 2009. Tom is a four time Paul Harris Fellow, a charter member of the Paul Harris Society for District 6880 and currently serves as Society Chairperson. He has been involved with RYLA, and has hosted and worked with GSE teams for the past eight years. He has been on the Ambassadorial and Cultural Scholarship Selection Committee from 2006 – 2009. He served as District Trainer for District Governor Elect, 2009 – 2010 and was the recipient of the Jerry Brunson Service Above Self Award for 2007 – 2008.
Tom was born in Arab, Alabama and attended Auburn University before starting his own SCUBA Diving School and retail business in 1989. He is one of two SCUBA Schools International Instructor Certifiers in the state of Alabama.Tom has served as a board member on the Camp ASCCA Board of Directors since 2004. He has worked with the Camp ASCCA sports camp, providing them with a SCUBA program since 1995. He also developed and supervises the SCUBA program for “Wounded Warriors”, through Camp ASCCA. Tom has been on the board of directors of the F. Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum. He was also Vice President of the Lake Forest Neighborhood Association from 1998 – 2004. Tom also serves on the Alabama State Easter Seals Board. He will serve District 6880 as Governor for the 2011 – 12 Rotary Year.
