Carol has been a member of the Troy Rotary Club, Troy, Alabama, since 1995.She has been on the club’s Board of Directors since 1997 in various capacities,was the first female president of the club in 2002 – 03 and has served her club as bulletin editor and pianist. Carol served as an Assistant District Governor for AreaFour for two years. She is a Paul Harris Fellow, a charter member of the Paul Harris Society of District 6880, and received the Douglas Barber Award for District 6880 in 2003 – 2004. She was on the District Nominating Committee for two years and was a member of a Group Study Exchange Team to Sweden in 1994 under  the leadership of PDG Stuart Adendorff. Carol assisted PDG Bob Rudder with the establishment of the Leadership Academy for District 6880 in 2003, and was District Leadership Chairman from 2002 – 2004. Carol was born in Chicago and raised in Lockport, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. She received the Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Flute Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Duquesne University in Pittsburgh.She has been an Associate Professor of Music at Troy University since 1982 and teaches flute, music theory at the sophomore level and woodwinds methods classes.Carol also assists with the concert bands and the Sound of the South Marching Band. She is involved with committee work on campus in addition to assisting with the Alumni Band and various student organizations. Carol is active as a performer on flute and piccolo and is a member of the Montgomery Symphony Orchestra, and performs often at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival inaddition to weddings, recitals, and church programs.Her husband Earl was a member of the Luverne Rotary Club, served as president in 2006 - 07, and is a three-time Paul Harris Fellow. Earl is now a member of the Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club. He is Executive Director for the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS). They reside in Troy with their Shih-Tzu, Piccolo.
